Grantmaking Conference 2018
Grantmaking in Australia
Grantmaker Tribal Gatherings
RACV Club, Bourke St, Melbourne
About the Conference
Thursday-Friday, August 23-24, 2018: Save the date now
Unorganised data is more of an encumbrance than an asset. To get from data to insight, you need the proper tools, and you need to know how to use them. Those tools are now here. One of them is SmartyGrants.
Today you can actually get answers from all the information you used to stuff into your filing cabinets undigested. You can see where the money's going, and where the change is happening, and you can link the two. You can map your field and plot the path to your goal. SmartyGrants is a torch in the gloom.
Change is coming, and it doesn't have a snooze button. This conference is the first step in the change process. People who've already been through the change process (and emerged intact) will show you the questions you can ask your data, while SmartyGrant's creators will tell you how to set things up so you get the answers you need, when you need them.

Who should attend
Our annual conference is designed for SmartyGrants users who are involved in delivering a local, state or federal government grants program, or a philanthropic/corporate/community grants program.
Prospective SmartyGrants users and non-users may also derive some value from the conference, which will reach well beyond the walls of technical usage and move into the world of good practice grantmaking.
The tribal gathering sessions are targeted specifically to local, state and federal government grantmakers (whether SmartyGrants users or not).
- Learn how to get started or get going in the world of data-driven grantmaking
- See examples of great reports that help inform grantmaking
- Hear about plans for SmartyGrants-driven grantmaking reform, and what's next on the development roadmap
- Learn how to embed an evaluation and learning framework into your grantmaking
- Hear examples of different ways of managing assessment processes
- Join with your grantmaking colleagues to try to nut out solutions to common grantmaking problems
The Tribal Gatherings:
- Hear from and speak with your grantmaking peers about common grantmaking challenges and solutions
